Power Cuts in India – Are they Here to Stay?

Indian industry has been battling load sheddings from power utilities for many years now.

Of course, some states are much worse than others in this context, but it is undeniable that a large part of the Indian industrial sector consider load sheddings and power cuts as a critical pain point for their operations.

On the other hand, the Indian power sector has been scrambling to add capacity. In some states like Tamil Nadu, the state government has promised to accelerate power capacity addition to completely eliminate power cuts. But it is anyone’s guess how feasible such a bridging of demand and supply is, because demand is increasing all the time as well.

This blog will discuss what lies in store for the Indian industries in the context of load shedding and power cuts. This is an evolving blog post, so please be patient :-).
