Deutsch bankers involve in a collaborative act with “NYC °CoolRoofs” program volunteers at New York to reduce CO2 emissions in the city. On a team challenge in 2011, the bank team made white coatings in the rooftops of buildings for disadvantaged families and homeless people, managed by the non-profit organization Pratt Area Community Council (PACC).  This initiative would reduce the use of air conditioners and keep the infrastructure 30% cooler during summer.

  • Sponsoring Intercontinental Solar Flight

Deutsche Bank sponsored the world’ first solar intercontinental flight that successfully completed it journey between Europe and Africa. Without any external fossil fuel, the experimental flight ran for about 6000 km and finally landed at Payerne, Switzerland in 2012.

  • Solar Roof-top Installation at the Headquarters Building, New York

In 2012, Deutsche Bank announced the completion and operation of a 122.4 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system at its Americas’ headquarters in New York, located at 60 Wall Street.  The roof-mounted array will reduce the Bank’s electricity consumption from the grid and decrease carbon emissions by 100 metric tons per year. This initiative is the third solar project in North America, completed by Deutsche Bank.

  • Financial Support for Enterprises in Clean Energy

Deutsch Bank supports E+Co, a non-profit organization that funds local small- and medium-size enterprises, supply clean and affordable energy to households, businesses and communities in developing countries. Currently, a $400,000 low-interest loan from Deutsche Bank helps E+Co to finance a solar photovoltaic manufacturing company in Nepal and a manufacturer of ceramic liners for energy efficient stoves in Ghana.

  • Aiding Organization for Industrial Progression with Sustainability

New York Industrial Retention Network, an organization for sustainable development and environmental justice in industries has taken its sponsorship from Deutsch Bank for a national retreat involving 40 experts from 32 organizations representing local governments, economic, community and environmental justice organizations and national policy institutes to have discussions on policy making for sustainable industrial development.

  • Unveiling Carbon Counter for Climate Change Awareness

In June 2009, DB Climate Change Advisors launched a major eco initiative by unveiling the world’s first scientifically valid, real-time carbon counter at two hot spots of New York. This counter is nearly a 70-foot-tall digital billboard displaying the running total of long-lived greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and helps to create groundbreaking awareness on climate change in the world.

  • Beautification of Space in Garden

In co-ordination with an NPO, Citizens Committee for New York City, Deutsche Bank volunteers from Global Transaction Banking (GTB), USA recently completed significant works in a treasured green space in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Bank volunteers completed installation of a brick path running the full length of the garden to beautify the space and also provide accessibility for visitors in Alice’s Garden opens.

  • Go Green Contributions in New York

Deutsch Bank volunteers took part in the “Root for New York” corporate challenge service event, organized by the New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in 2012. During the event, they involved in a large-scale tree planting to beautify targeted neighborhoods throughout the city.

In 2012, voluntary employees from Deutsch Bank also participated in an annual service day, New York Cares Day Spring called by New York Cares to help beautify and enhance parks, community gardens and green spaces throughout the city.
