  • Raising Funds from Plastic Wastes for Polio Vaccination

Casio Techno Co., Ltd., and Casio Information Systems Co., Ltd have assisted an NPO, ECOCAP Movement to collect PET bottle caps and raise funds for polio vaccination. It is estimated that 800 PET bottle caps on exchange fetch 20 yen, can cover the cost of one polio vaccination.

  • Casio Watches to save Dolphins and Whales  

Casio raises funds through sale of its two watch products, G-SHOCK and Baby-G and donates it to the International Cetacean Education Research Center (ICERC) of Japan, an NPO for conservation of dolphins and whales in natural environment. The watches also have ICERC’ slogan “All as One” imprinted on them. This philanthropic act has been in operation since the Fourth International Dolphin and Whale Conference held in Japan in 1994.

  • School Children Visit to Casio’ Green Building

The Hachioji R&D Center at Casio Computer Co Ltd has diverse eco-friendly features and periodically permits elementary school children from Tokyo and Hokkaido to have a visit around the plant and learn about the principles and designs in a green building through its education program.

  • Encouraging Floriculture for Land Use and Tourism

Casio is a foster sponsor for the cultivation of tulips flowers in the fallow rice fields of Hamura City, located in Tokyo. Apart from effective utilization of land, the tulips field attracts a large number of visitors. The company also promotes preservation and cultivation of Ohga lotus plants, an ancient form of lotus flower.

  • Casio’ Stage for Harmony with Nature at Eco-trade Show

Casio is a regular exhibitor at Eco-Products, the largest environmental trade show in Japan.  During the event in 2011, the corporate showcased its initiatives to help build a low-carbon society and protect biodiversity under the theme of “Harmony with Nature.” Casio’s stage also featured an interactive quiz for visitors and a witty performance by a stand-up comedian describing everyday examples of saving energy and caring for the natural environment.

  • Preserving Endangered Cherry Tree in Japan

Otoguro cherry trees are endangered plants in Yamanashi Prefecture,Japan today. Kofu Casio has vowed to participate in cultivation of this endangered cherry tree for the purpose of preserving the variety and beautifying the landscape around the plant.

It received trees as donation from the Tamaho-cho city in 2004 and over three subsequent years, the company planted more than 30 Otoguro cherry trees. All the transplanted trees took root and every spring they provide a beautiful display of blossoms for people to enjoy the grounds of the Kofu plant.

  • Casio’ Joint Afforestation Work in China

Casio Electronics (Shenzhen) Co.Ltd boosts afforestation activities in the community to strengthen its relations. In 2012, 26 employees participated in a tree planting event, co-sponsored by the Shenzhen Urban Management Bureau and Shenzhen Green Foundation.
