Wasn’t it Marie Antoinette who said “Let them eat cake”?

Acc to Wikipedia, “The quote, as attributed to Antoinette, was claimed to have been uttered during one of the famines that occurred in France during the reign of her and her husband, Louis XVI. Upon being alerted that her people were suffering due to widespread bread shortages, she is said to have replied, “Then let them eat cake.””

I’m reminded of something similar. India has so many basic problems when it comes to energy – 60% of villages do not have electricity, just to name one.

And the most socially responsible business group does what? Launches a car that will make lower middle class people cough up money to buy something they really do not need, make driving or riding on roads even worse, and make India more indebted to the morons of the Middle East. One would have expected Ratan Tata to have appreciated the concept of sustainability better, but well this just proves that no one is perfect…
