Cairn India To Net $1 Billion Revenues from Barmer Oilfield In Rajasthan - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

Cairn India Limited (Cairn India) is expecting to make around $1 billion revenue from its Barmer oilfield in Rajasthan in 2010. Barmer is anticipated to start production during the third quarter of fiscal 2009 and attain a production of 175,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in 2010. Cairn India has found 25 hydrocarbons in Rajasthan and spent around $2 billion (around INR100 billion) till now. India now imports two million bopd while the local production is about 650,000 bopd.

Cairn India has also found oil reserves of 3.7 billion barrels, of which 2 billion barrels are in the three main fields comprising of Mangala, Bhagyam and Aishwarya in Rajasthan.

Cairn India is also planning to execute fresh studies at the Ravva oil and gas field in Andhra Pradesh.
