With over 75 companies from India and abroad and 11 State Pavilions, the First BioFach India 2009, will be taking place from 18 – 20 November in Mumbai. Organised by Nürnberg Messe and International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture, ICCOA, BioFach India 2009 will be held parallel to, and in conjunction with the fifth India Organic Trade Fair.
According to Mukesh Gupta, president, ICCOA, the Year 2009 will always be remembered for many significant landmarks. Government of India has notified Domestic Organic Standards.The total land area under certification has crossed one million hectares. Many pan India retail chains have got very good response for their organic offerings in metro towns. Over and above Biofach, the global brand for organic trade fairs has come to India.
BioFach India together with India Organic shall become an important trading platform for organic products from India, for both domestic and international business. In addition we wish to offer educational seminars to improve know-ledge about organic agriculture and certification, marketing organic products and international trade issues, says Petra Wolf, NürnbergMesse GmbH, Member of the Management Board.
