Gamesa Turning Its Attention to Moderate and Low Wind Sites? - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

I was reading a news article on Gamesa from Feb 2012 in which its CMD had said that the wind turbine maker was shifting its attention to moderate and low wind sites.

This shouldn’t exactly be a surprise, given that we are running out of sites with high wind speeds, especially in states like Tamil Nadu.

Ramesh Kymal mentioned these while Gamesa launched G97-2 MW wind turbines in India. It launched the G97 in the global market last year and has secured contracts to supply 356 MW worldwide.

Gamesa’s G97-2 MW turbines are designed for low-wind sites.
