Tata Power's Wind Farm Acquisition Push - Looking to Buy and Build 200 MW per Year - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

In a positive boost to the Indian wind sector, Tata Power is looking at adding up to 200 MW of wind power every year, either through organic growth or through acquisitions  – though I have a feeling that the latter would constitute a larger share of the growth trend, as organic growth could take a while.

In Oct 2013, the company bought close to 40 MW of wind power projects belonging to ASW, and I guess we can look more such acquisitions in 2014 too. (Some more details on the ASW acquisition here)

And it is not just Tatas, EAI expects large amounts of wind power capacity to change hands during 2014 and 2015. To this end, we have set up a special division to assist the buyers and sellers – the EAI Wind B2B, a part of EAI B2B
