Requests for selection (RfS) of solar projects under the National Solar Mission, coordinated by NVVN, has received an enthusiastic response from the prospective power developers.
A senior official was quoted saying that as against a 150 MW of solar PV to be allocated (@ 5 MW per company), NVVN has received applications worth 1740 MW for the phase I.
This was for solar PV. The quantum of applications for solar thermal is not yet known.
Of the 418 RfS applications received, 343 were for solar PV and the 55 for solar thermal. Fifteen applications were not clear on whether they wish to apply for PV or thermal, and five applications were for combined thermal and PV projects.
