Va Tech Wabag, a water technology firm secures a 4400 crore contract to set up and operate a a 400 million litres a day (MLD) reverse osmosis desalination plant at Perur on the East Coast Road. Once the plant is set up, Chennai will receive a 750 MLD watter supply, providing drinking water security to residents especially in the southern suburbs.
