As a continuity to the earlier news on companies signing MOU with the Gujarat government for renewable energies, the targeted capacity for setting up power plants by Tata Power and Aston field Renewable Resources Ltd (ARRL) are 5 MW (solar and geothermal power plant each) and 200 MW (solar photovoltaic) respectively. Tata power already has an installed power capacity of 2,300 MW generated from thermal, hydro, solar and wind. In addition to solar PV projects, ARRL is also developing renewable energy plants using biomass and municipal solid waste-to-energy technologies. It has project allotments and/or active business development operations in eight different states in India.
