Here’s a unique center to help students innovate in solar energy.
The Energy Swaraj Ashram at Marwadi University will enable students to conduct advanced R&D, prototyping and analytics of the solar energy sector at the MU campus, providing a gateway for regional entrepreneurship in the
Saurashtra region.

The inauguration of the unique initiative was done by Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki, a faculty at IIT Mumbai and popularly known as ‘Solar Man of India’. An inspired academic/entrepreneur, he has made solar energy reaching more than 6.5 million families, and training over 9,000 women to make solar lamps.
I’m aware that Chetan is currently on a unique Energy Swaraj solar yatra, and lives in a bus operated completely on solar – really (he even sends regular WhatsApp pictures of his life in the solar bus). He is a
maverick, and I mean it positively – we need mavericks to make the clean energy transition a reality.
