Wind Turbine Generates Both Electricity & Water

EAI INCLINE India cleantech innovation showcase

Madhu Vajrakarur, a 23-year-old electrical engineering student from Andhra Pradesh has built a two-in-one

Small wind turbine that can generate electricity and clean drinking water.

That’s a fairly new thing, even for someone like me who has been reviewing

Cleantech innovations for over a decade.

Wind mills to draw water are well known (that was how windmills started their life centuries back!) but

Wind turbines that can generate water (by capturing it from air) is fairly new.

Having briefly gone through Madhu’s work, I’m not certain about many aspects – both technical and even more, economics – of his idea. But I’m including his work at EAI INCLINE mainly for his

motivation and imagination to try something like this,

Bravo, lad! Keep going.
