China sells over 30 million electric bicycles a year
Driven by a mix of Chinese government mandates and low cost electric bicycles, about 32 million electric bicycles were sold in the country in 2019, while the total global sales of electric bicycles were just 36 million.
That is, China sells about 90% (nine out of every ten) electric bicycles sold globally.
