India wants to produce EVs, CNG and biofuels for vehicles at the same time

If you carefully listen to Indian policy makers, you will realize that they are keen on promoting three different types of low carbon transport – electric vehicles, biofuel-based vehicles and CNG based vehicles.

That sounds like a very good idea, expect of course if you are a vehicle manufacturer or solution provider.

If the vehicle sales domain is assumed to be a zero sum game (if one wins, another loses), growth for any of the three will mean loss for the other two.

For instance, if India would be selling 100% electric vehicles by 2035, what is the incentive for a company to invest in a biofuel project which could have a lifetime of 20 years!
