Would you like to spend a wonderful day at an organic farm?

I spent 8 hours, about two months back, just immersing myself in an organic farm, which also had an organic livestock (for dairy) attached along with it.
While being at a farm was nothing special for me as I was used to hanging around at my village farms whenever I visit it, the 8 hours at the Akshayakalpa Organic farm at Pooriyambakkam (about 90 Kms from Chennai) was quite unique, for three reasons:
1. It was a fully organic farm, will 100% circular inputs – It was quite encouraging to see how all the inputs between the farm and the livestock were circularised.

3. It was expert guided – the detailed guidance by the farm lead (Chandan Raghothama) on all the aspects of the farm made a big difference to our learning.
We also had the CEO of Akshayakalpa Organic(Shashi Kumar) share with us his thoughts & vision at the farm.
All in all, it was an impactful day. When an urbanite is in a farm one whole day, in physical touch with nature, with expert guides around and some 40 passionate folks humming along, it is not a day he will forget easily
We have the next Akshayakalpa Organic Farm visit organized Jul 22nd (Saturday) by the Chennai Climate Consortium. Those who are interested can put in a note in the Comments section, DM me or send a note to narsi@eai.in
Look forward to having you at the farm.
