Arvind Ltd, a leading textile conglomerate in India, has integrated its Climate-related Risk management into its existing ERM framework and is committed to reducing its dependence on fossil fuels.

Currently, Arvind Ltd has a renewable energy generation capacity of 65.23MW across its facilities. In terms of solar energy, Arvind Ltd plans to reduce carbon emissions by 30% with the installation of rooftop solar projects across its facilities in Ahmedabad, Santej, and Bangalore.

In the wind energy sector, Arvind PD Composites has been supplying fiberglass fabrics that offer higher load absorption, allowing the blades to be used at greater wind speeds and heights, thereby increasing electricity generation.

Arvind Ltd has also been reducing its dependence on fossil fuels by creating a backward supply chain of biomass briquettes and installing biomass-based boilers.

Partnerships in Decarbonization

They have partnered with H&M Group and Indian start-up Deven Supercriticals to test a new technology, SUPRAUNO®, which uses Supercritical CO2 instead of water and other chemicals to dye fabrics. This technology has shown promising results in reducing energy, water, and chemical use.

Partnered with PurFi Global LLC, a sustainable technology company specializing in rejuvenating textile waste into virgin quality products. This joint venture aims to reduce the amount of textile waste going to landfills.

Arvind Ltd has also signed an agreement with Industrial Solar GmbH for an engineering study, the first phase of implementing a concentrating solar collector. This is a part of Arvind Ltd’s focus on solar energy.

Arvind Ltd has installed a 16.2 MW rooftop solar at Santej, which is India’s largest rooftop solar installation at a single location, in collaboration with Cleantech Solar.

Formed an alliance with NK Protein for the supply of biomass to green their energy mix even further.
