In itself, this effort might not have much bearing on decarbonization or solid waste management – given that the Indian telecom industry emits about 30 million tons of CO2 per year and India’s total municipal solid waste is about 60 million tons per year!
But such efforts from an industry leaders can be effective as a signal and motivate many others to do these, and hopefully much more!
