In the last 10-15 years, cement factories across the country have become a valuable partner in solid waste management, by using MSW and industrial solid waste. Given their extensive fuel needs, and also their need to reduce carbon footprints, they have become prominent consumers of these solid wastes.
Use of fly ash and slag also have become quite common across cement firms, further cementing their usefulness for sustainable solid waste disposal.
