Did Sinovel Steal AMSC Wind Turbine Control Software? - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech

Well, well.

This reads like a spy novel.

I am sure none of us would have been surprised if we were told that there was not much rule of law in China. After all, the country is more known for thinking big and getting things done than about having moral scruples.

But you must read the case of brazen stealing of IP from the American Superconductor (AMSC)’s wind turbine control software.

I had heard about this case, but not read the full details. Happened to come across a detailed report on how Sinovel, one of the world’s largest turbine makers, effectively stole the software from AMSC, and how AMSC is fighting back.

Guess the jury is still out on how exactly this would end, but I bet you would never see dealing with China in the same light after reading this article from Business Week.
