Cape Town, a port town in South Africa, recently had been hit by severe water scarcity. In fact, the Day Zero, when the city would eventually run out of water (yes, run out of fresh water!) was supposed to happen in 2018, but the clock has now been pushed to sometime in 2019. Delayed, but not defeated!

Well, ironically, Cape Town is also a port town – and is still facing this crisis.

Closer home, our good old Chennai is a port town too, and over 10 times larger as Cape Town. We have had our notorious run-ins with water scarcity a few times in the past, though not on the scales that Cape Town is facing right now.

If we are not careful, could cities like Chennai become the next Cape Towns?

Given the gravity of the above question, isn’t it is a good idea to start understanding more about water conservation and management across being currently practised all sectors of the society? (both residential and industrial sectors…)

With this in mind, SICCI (South India Chamber of Commerce & Indudtry) is organizing a focussed 3 hour conference and discussion session on how industries are currently planning and taking steps for water sustainability.

The conference will be held on 6 Dec between 530 and 830 PM at ITC Welcom Hotel on Cathedral Road, Chennai.

There is no entry fee for the conference, but there are limited seats. Those interested are hence requested to use the Registration Link provided at the end to block a seat.
