C3 visit to NCCRD – National Center for Combustion Research & Development

About 25 guests had a guided facility tour of the NCCRD at IIT Madras, organized by the Chennai Climate Consortium – folks ranging all the way from college students to a senior partner at McKinsey & Co.

Thank you all.

1. The core of the research is about combustion in the context of automotive propulsion (which includes anything that moves faster than 25 kph, from scooters to rockets!) – should you add propulsion to the title of the division – Satya Chakravarthy?

Deep dive into our work

2. The diversity of research undertaken within this umbrella is quite impressive – from “down to earth” electric-ICE hybrid engines for 2 wheelers to flame behaviour in supersonic environments (whatever it means)

3. We have some real smart talent in deep, scientific R&D – talent that has not been swayed (at least that’s what I think) by the get-rick-quick commotion happening all around the country.

Thanks Satya Chakravarthy for your time, and even bigger thanks to Usha Nagarajan (unable to find her on LinkedIn) for patiently putting up with us throughout the two hours.

And thanks of course to all those who landed up
