How long have humans been around on earth? Today’s CLIDEMY Poll
???? ??? ??????? ????? ???? ???? – https://lnkd.in/gFm7EuKK
In just about 200 years, since the start of industrial revolution (circa 1830), we have been able to successfully (notoriously?) increase GHG levels and average global temperatures to unacceptable amounts in the atmosphere. The climate & temperatures were likely quite stable before this, which is why average global temperatures are benchmarked with those from pre-industrial levels.
Now, some of you might feel that human existence alone will necessarily lead to increased emissions as we are an ambitious species, use a lot of energy, and most of this from “extraneous”, un-natural sources – compared to other animals and living beings that use relatively low amounts of energy and that too from natural and sustainable sources.

Gooooooogggle to your heart’s content, but after making your choice!.
So, whatever is the right answer (say X years, which you dig up post your selection), serious emissions have been happening bigtime only for (200/X) fraction of time that humans have been hanging around on earth. For instance, assuming the correct answer is 25,000 years, serious emissions have been happening only for 200/25,000 = 0.008 or 0.8% of the time.
Have fun learning a bit about our existence and our emissions.
