Punjab Steel Plants Look at Wind Energy Projects - India Renewable Energy Consulting – Solar, Biomass, Wind, Cleantech
Select Page

A number of small and medium enterprises in Punjab are putting up wind energy plants. While they are on record stating that they are doing this for a clean environment, I guess they are not going to be unhappy in getting the tax benefits from these wind mills.

Some of the companies that have either put up wind energy plants or are in the process of doing so: Bhawani Industries (Mandi Gobindgarh) and Ludiana-based Jindal Fine Industries.

Bhawani has set up a 0.6 MW wind energy plant in Rajasthan and plans to set up similar ones in MP. Jindal Fine has set up a 1.25 MW wind energy plant in Rajasthan too.

Whatever is the motive behind putting up these plants, the end does sometimes satisfy the means, so I’m all for it.
